Overview

To optimize the performance and efficiency of all FOSSA environments, we are initiating a database migration to retire a legacy dependency metadata table. This update will reduce system bottlenecks and improve overall query response times, enabling a more responsive user experience.

What this means for you:

  • Benefits

    • Performance Optimization
    • Data Consistency across platform
  • Changes

    • Any project revisions last analyzed before May 2025 will no longer display dependency details. To restore visibility for these historical projects, simply trigger a re-analysis.
  • Unchanged

    • This change only impacts dependency details for these older scans. The following project metadata remains unchanged and will continue to persist indefinitely
    • Project revisions analyzed after May 2025
    • All original SBOMs from SBOM imports
    • Any project revisions before May 2025 that are referenced in any release group

We will make this change by August 31st 2026. We have analyzed our customer base and the vast majority of customers will see zero impact to dependency metadata as a result of this change. If you have any concerns please reach out to your Customer Success contact or support@fossa.com. Thank you for your continued partnership and we look forward to the improved performance and data consistency on the back half of this change.
