Release Groups

FOSSA Release Groups are used to bundle projects together, treating them as a single unit within FOSSA. A Release Group can contain multiple releases and allows you to generate reports specifically for that group.

They are particularly recommended when you're shipping or distributing multiple projects governed by a single policy.

It's essential to note that, unlike Teams, all projects within a Release Group adhere to uniform licensing and security standards. Moreover, unlike Teams, you have the flexibility to directly assign License, Security, and Quality policies to a Release Group. In the absence of these specified policies, the Organization-level policies will take precedence.

Release Groups can be created under both the Organization itself and any of the teams within the Organization, offering versatility in organizational structure.
