The fundamental structure of FOSSA begins with the Organization, a singular entity where all your projects can be housed. For larger entities like Enterprises, it's advisable to utilize Teams within the Organization. Put simply, a Team is a subset of an Organization. An Organization can host multiple teams, offering scalability and flexibility.

Teams provide a flexible way to group projects within FOSSA, allowing you to organize them under different team umbrellas rather than clustering them all within a single Organization. With Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) and predefined user roles (Team Viewer/Editor/Admin), you can precisely tailor permissions for users involved in specific teams.

A key thing to consider is when using teams is that each team's projects adhere to their own licensing and security policies. Also Teams in turn can have multiple release groups , if needed.
